My Story: A Different Way of Healing

A Different Way of Healing

I grew up in Switzerland, where my childhood was filled with the kind of wellness practices that are trendy now — ice baths in the mountains, fresh air every day, Bircher muesli made from scratch. My grandmother was a naturopath, and from her I learned that health isn’t something you chase when it’s lost — it’s something you build, day by day.

Those early lessons stayed with me. When I came to Australia to study veterinary medicine at Sydney University, I carried that curiosity with me. Alongside my conventional training, I began studying homeopathy. Even as a young student, I wanted to understand not just how to treat disease, but how to restore balance.

Twenty-Five Years, Thousands of Animals

Fast forward 25 years. I’ve seen thousands of animals in my career. I’ve worked in busy emergency hospitals, managed life-and-death traumas, stabilised poisoned dogs at 3 a.m., and sat with owners through their most difficult moments.

That experience made me calm, decisive, and grateful for the power of modern medicine. But it also gave me perspective — and time to notice a worrying trend.

Animals Are Sicker Than They Used to Be

Over the years, I’ve seen tumours in younger and younger dogs, autoimmune diseases appearing early in life, and a growing number of highly anxious, fearful pets who struggle just to feel safe.

And despite all our progress, we often keep doing the same thing:

Steroids for itchy skin

Sedatives for anxiety

Anti-nausea meds for vomiting

Painkillers for sore joints

It can become a revolving door: symptoms return, drugs repeat, and underlying imbalances never get addressed.

The Heart of My Work

This is why I practice differently. My focus is on creating health, not just treating disease. I spend time with each animal, gathering their full story — fears, quirks, medical history, triggers — until I can see the unique pattern. Then I choose a plan that works with the body, not against it.

At the centre of my work is homeopathy — a gentle, precise system of medicine that matches a remedy to the whole animal. When the match is right, I see remarkable changes: calmer minds, clearer skin, stronger digestion, even more joyful behaviour.

Why This Matters

This isn’t about rejecting conventional medicine — it saves lives, and I still use it when needed. But I believe we can do better than endless cycles of symptom suppression. We can address the root cause, reduce unnecessary medications, and build vitality that lasts.

And it’s never too early or too late to start. Whether I’m supporting a puppy to grow strong and resilient or helping a senior pet find comfort and spark again, my goal is the same: to bring the body back into balance and let health emerge.

An Invitation

If you’ve ever wondered whether there is a gentler, deeper way to help your pet — one that looks at the whole picture — I’d love to show you what’s possible.
